The Forrester Family

Bob Forrester

Trained as a classical pianist, Bob also studied jazz piano with Ted Moses, renowned Toronto jazz musician and composer.

In the early 1970s he was the keyboard player in the rock band Steel River. They were signed with William Morris Agency in New York and toured with The James Gang, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Three Dog Night and had international success with four singles and three albums. He is an award-winning member of SOCAN (the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada).

In the late ‘70s, Bob returned to university to obtain his MBA. He has worked as a Sales Executive at Xerox and Honeywell, and is currently at Canada Post.

Bob now spends his spare time writing and recording music.

Janet Forrester

Janet has worked for BMO Financial Group for over 30 years. Since Liane’s death, she has worked hard to turn her family’s tragedy into something positive and has been committed to fundraising for the Sick Kids Foundation, Childhood Cancer Research Centre. She continues to be an inspiration to her family and friends.

Michael Forrester

Michael just graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, Trinity College, specializing in Molecular Genetics with a minor in Philosophy. He is pursuing graduate studies in the fall. He has worked as a summer research student at Sick Kids in the oncology department, and is interested in pursuing a career as a Clinical Oncologist - a doctor who specializes in cancer biology and also performs research. Michael was featured in the Sick Kids section of the Toronto Star on June 2, 2005 (click here to view the article). He aspires to advance our understanding of cancer and to relieve the suffering that the disease brings to families. He hopes that people will be inspired by Liane's story and remember the many valuable lessons that she has taught us.
